Downstream Technology Consultant – Refineries, NGLF, and Petrochemical Plants
We are seeking a Downstream Technology Consultant to join our Global Manufacturing Excellence Organization under our technical support team. The technical support is a multi-disciplinary team responsible for providing the required high-quality technical support to GM operating facilities (Refineries, NGLF, and petrochemical plants) inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia & across the globe.
Your primary role will be to support the Technology roadmap and deployment programs which are aimed at maximizing the technology value realization, utilization and benefits by deploying innovative and efficient solutions and technologies across Global Manufacturing facilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Engage with Global Manufacturing organizations, as well as business and engineering stakeholders to identify, evaluate, develop and support technology deployment programs that offer long-term, global, competitive differentiation for the company.
- Identify and build a network of strategic technology engineering partnerships for effective pre-and post-deployment support and to accelerate deployment.
- Develop the technology roadmaps with the Global Manufacturing Excellence subject matter experts and corporate organizations.
- Lead portfolio analysis, reviews to enable technology portfolio prioritization through providing insights and recommendations.
- Partner with Aramco’s Downstream and Engineering Services organizations to develop a consolidated forecast programs and investment plans.
- Build a shared understanding of long-term business needs, prioritized deployment scenarios informed by business investment plans, underlying technology challenges, and minimum performance criteria for a fit-for-purpose technology solution.
- Through understanding of technology performance criteria, define a value hypothesis for a minimum viable product that satisfies defined business needs, and validate market-specific use cases and value propositions for targeted solutions, and support technology business case development and techno-economic evaluation.
- Develop and delivers technology deployment plans for each project, including intellectual property (IP) exploitation opportunities.
Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Science or Engineering discipline. An advanced degree (MBA/ Finance) is preferable.
12 years’ experience in the areas of technology scouting, technology research and technology development, with at least 5 years of experience in product development, technology marketing and exposure to energy-related and/or software-related technology licensing.
Finance experience in downstream refinery, chemicals, natural gas distribution, energy services, alternative or renewable energy, engineering and technology innovation.
Sufficient understanding and expertise across the “Strategy-to-Value” technology lifecycle, including: R&D and IP strategy, engineering, scale-up, project development, economic evaluation, supply chain development, risk evaluation and mitigation, as well as strategy and business development.
Experience in developing business cases for new strategies or products.
